LENTEN OBSERVANCES 2019

The Holy Season of Lent is upon us: remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. As we journey toward the promise of the resurrection, let us empty our hands of the things that are not love and reach toward Him Who will fill them.

ASH WEDNESDAY

A day of fasting and abstinence. Masses are as follows:

  • 7 am
  • 9 am School Mass
  • 7 pm Mass with cantor and organ

FRIDAY STATIONS AND BENEDICTION

Every Friday at 7 pm, come to walk in meditation the sorrowful last hours of our Lord and to adore Him in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. Meditation books provided.

LAETARE SUNDAY WEEKEND OF ADORATION – March 29-31

As in years past, St. Francis de Sales responds to the Holy Father’s call for a weekend of Adoration and Devotion to the Holy Eucharist in Lent. Stay tuned for details as the weekend approached.

Masses for the Solemn Feast and Season of Christmas are as follows:

Masses for the Fourth Week of Advent

  • Saturday, 5:00 pm
  • Sunday, 7 am, 10:15 am (Solemn w/ organ), 12 pm (Spanish)

Masses for the Solemn Feast of the Nativity (Christmas)

  • Monday, Dec. 24:
    • 5 pm Vigil “Family” Mass;
    • 12 am “Shepherds’ Mass” at Midnight (Carols and organ begin at 11:15 pm).
  • Tuesday, Dec. 25
    • No 7 am MassĀ 
    • 10:15 am Mass of Christmas Morning
    • 12 pm Spanish Mass

Masses in the Octave of Christmas

  • No Mass Dec. 26; church offices closed.
  • Dec. 26-30: Masses of the Day are offered at 9 am. The rectory is closed for the duration of the Octave of Christmas.
  • January 1 (The Feast of Mary, the Mother of God) is a Holy Day of Obligation this year.
